Privacy Policy

Rotivity is a Roblox playtime tracker, available as a browser extension and as a website. This page explains what data it collects, where that data lives, and who can see it.

How your data is used

Rotivity uses what it collects to:

• Run the tracking service itself and show your own history back to you on your dashboard
• Display your entry on public leaderboards, unless you've turned that off (see below)
• Send account-related emails like a password reset, never marketing
• Detect abuse and enforce rate limits on sign-in, sign-up, and similar endpoints
• Build anonymized, aggregate usage stats (like daily signups), which can't be used to identify a specific person

What the extension reads from Roblox

Using your existing, already-logged-in roblox.com session in your browser (never a separate username/password collected by Rotivity itself), the extension reads:

• Your own presence (whether you're in a game, in Roblox Studio, or offline, and which game)
• Your own badges and their rarity
• Your own avatar's equipped items (to detect outfit changes for recap cards)
• If you enable it: your friends list and their presence, so you can see who's playing right now
• Public server population counts for the specific server you're on

None of this requires you to give Rotivity your Roblox password or any separate credentials. It only ever reads what your browser can already see while you're signed into roblox.com.

Where this data is stored by default

By default, everything the extension collects (sessions, badges, avatar snapshots, friend activity) is stored locally on your device only, using your browser's built-in chrome.storage.local. It is never sent anywhere unless you explicitly opt in below.

What's sent to Rotivity's servers (opt-in only)

If you choose to connect a Rotivity account (from the extension's Accounts tab, or by signing up on the website directly), the data described above is synced to Rotivity's backend so you can view it from any device, and so the website can keep tracking your playtime even when the extension isn't running. This includes your Roblox username/user ID, session history, badges, and avatar snapshots. It does not include your Roblox password.

If you use the website's no-extension tracking (verifying account ownership via a one-time profile bio code), the same categories of data are collected server-side on your behalf.

Data sharing and disclosure

Rotivity doesn't sell your data. It's only ever shared with:

• The hosting, database, and transactional-email providers that run the service itself, bound to only use it to provide that infrastructure
• Other visitors, if your leaderboard visibility is left on (see "What Rotivity does not do" below and the Terms of Service's Public leaderboards section)
• Law enforcement or a legal process, only if actually required

The optional companion app

The companion app is a small program that runs on your own computer to keep tracking playtime even when your browser is closed. It only ever talks to the extension over 127.0.0.1 (your own machine). It never sends anything over the internet itself.

Data security

Traffic to Rotivity is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS), passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing rather than in plain text, and sign-in/sign-up endpoints are rate-limited to slow down brute-forcing. No method of transmitting or storing data online is 100% secure, so this reduces risk rather than eliminating it.

Cookies

The website sets one first-party cookie to keep you signed in. It isn't used for advertising or for tracking you across other sites, and Rotivity doesn't use any third-party analytics or ad cookies.

Anonymous site analytics

To see how many people visit the site day to day, each page load is logged with the page path and a one-way hash built from that day's date, your IP address, and your browser's user-agent string, run through a keyed hash so it can't be reversed back into your actual IP. It rotates every day, exists only to answer "how many distinct visitors today," and isn't used to track you across days or tie your visits back to your account. This runs entirely on Rotivity's own server; no third-party analytics service ever sees this traffic.

What Rotivity does not do

• No third-party analytics or advertising trackers
• No selling or sharing of your data with third parties
• No collection of your Roblox password or payment information

Your rights and choices

Access: everything Rotivity has tracked about you is already visible on your own dashboard, there's no separate request process needed just to see it.

Deletion: uninstalling the extension removes everything stored locally. To delete data stored on Rotivity's servers, unlink individual Roblox profiles from the Accounts tab, or use "Delete account" in the dashboard sidebar to permanently delete your account and everything linked to it in one step. You can also contact us through our official channels to request deletion instead.

Leaderboard visibility: turn off "Show my ranking" any time from the Leaderboard tab. Your entry disappears from everyone else's view; your own playtime keeps tracking either way.

The dashboard itself only ever displays roughly the last 400 days of session history, but older sessions aren't automatically erased just because they've aged out of that view. Deletion only happens through the steps above.

International data transfers

Your data is stored and processed on Rotivity's hosting and database providers' servers, which may be located in a different country than you.

Roblox's own privacy policy

Using roblox.com or the Roblox app itself is governed by Roblox Corporation's own privacy policy and terms, not this one.

Children's privacy

Rotivity follows Roblox's own minimum age for using Roblox itself. If you're a parent or guardian and believe your child has a Rotivity account or a linked Roblox profile, contact us through our official channels and it will be removed.

Changes to this policy

Rotivity may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change, and continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept it.
