No, never. Web tracking is verified by pasting a one-time code into your Roblox profile's "About" section, which proves you own the account without handing over any credentials. The browser extension uses your browser's existing roblox.com login the same way any other site you're already signed into works. It never asks for or sees your password either.
Both track your playtime, streaks, Studio time, badges, recap cards, and recently played games, so almost everything works on either one. The browser extension adds things that only work with a live, open browser session: friends' activity and a leaderboard, stats shown directly on Roblox's own pages, and desktop notifications that fire even when Rotivity isn't open (the web dashboard's notifications only fire while that tab's open). You can start with just the web dashboard and add the extension later, same account, nothing to redo.
A background process checks Roblox's own presence system every couple of minutes to see if you're in a game (and which one). Time accumulates into a session for as long as you're online; when you leave or switch games, that session is saved. Accuracy is to the nearest ~90 seconds, not to the second.
Friend activity is extension-only, and only ever shows people already on your real Roblox friends list. It reads your own browser's session to check on people who've already agreed to be your friend. The web-only tracking tier never polls anyone but you.
Yes, free.
Yes. Unlink any linked Roblox profile any time from the Accounts tab, or use "Delete account" in the dashboard sidebar to permanently delete your account and all associated data entirely (you can also contact us through our official channels instead). See the Privacy page for exactly what's collected and where it's stored.
No. Rotivity is an independent, third-party project, not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with Roblox Corporation.
Web-tier tracking runs on our servers continuously, independent of whether your browser is open. The extension's own tracking normally only runs while Chrome is open. An optional companion app removes that limitation if you want tracking to continue even with the browser fully closed.
Yes. Link additional Roblox profiles from the Accounts tab, and every linked profile's playtime rolls up into the same dashboard.
Chrome and other Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, etc.) that support Chrome extensions. The web dashboard works in any modern browser.
